We are delighted to announce that the Petaluma Kmart (store #3501) took home first place for their shopping cart tribute to American Graffiti. As part of the Kmart Renaissance program, 15 Bay Area Kmart stores competed for best shopping cart float this week in Oakland. Our Kmart based its float on the police car from the movie, American Graffiti. As you know, American Graffiti was filmed in Petaluma and here at The Plaza North, we host the Salute to American Graffiti Cruise-in and opening social. So it was a great tie-in to both Petaluma and The Plaza North. The float was meticulously constructed over a two week period of time and even has working lights! It’s safely back in Petaluma now and will make a reappearance at our next Salute to American Graffiti car show.
As part of the Salute to American Graffiti Cruise-In on May 14th, The Plaza North also hosted a Bigfoot 4×4 truck. Here’s the interview with Driver Darron Schnell of Bigfoot 4×4 Inc. and Account Executive Joe Williams of Firestone Fleet Care and Firestone Complete.
We recently celebrated the grand opening of our newest merchant, Cost-U-Less Insurance. Petaluma Mayor Pam Torliatt and Chief Executive Officer Onita Pellegrini of The Petaluma Area Chamber of Commerce presided over the ribbon cutting, with the help of Manager Jill Clark and Business Development Officer Bouachan Carey of Cost-U-Less Insurance.
After fifteen successful years in Petaluma the owner of Ideal Stationers, Ron Clare announced that their store in the Plaza North shopping center store will officially close on July 31st. Since 1995, Ideal Stationers has been the go-to destination for office and school supplies, gifts, cards and more.
